Cooking is a universal remedy for depression.
This is Chicken Breast Dijon a bed of Fragrant Basmati Rice with some Bourbon Apples on the side. The OJ is there because I was going to go out later, wine is out of the question.
No filters this time so this is what the food actually looks like. If you look at the rice you can see the little bits of saffron—which is why Dave likes to call this “saffron rice”— and that the apples are overcooked. I cheated a little bit from the recipe and cooked the chicken with a single slice of bacon which I used to top it.
I definitely needed a tripod for this shot. When you are this close, your depth of field is tiny so you have to stop down and expose forever and a day.
