Question by The Mom: Does anyone know how to make country “sticky rice”?
My VERY country MIL used to make this rice with ham juice(?) and she called it “sticky rice”. It wasn’t like the hawaiian or thai version, but was made with either ham or ham juice, not sure. My hubby LOVED it and she has since passed away without us getting this dear recipe. Any help? Thanks in advance!!

You have to ‘bite the bullit’ and get the recipe from a relative. Be nice and inquire from a relative…They’ll be happy to accomodate you.
In the meantime, here is a “Ham stock” tutorial…

I get mine at Walmart’s Grocery or almost any major supermarket will have it.
And here’s a website for making “sticky rice.” May or may not be what you’re looking for.

When cooking the rice, use the Goya Ham Flavored Concentrate instead of plain water.
You have to start somewhere… A “rice cooker” is a GREAT applicance for cooking rice if you cook it almost every day.
